Planters Punch Cocktail is a Classic Rum based Cocktail and is an IBA official cocktail, which is made using Jamaican rum, fresh lime, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine syrup and a dash of angostura bitter.

Planters Punch has been said to have originated at the Planters Hotel in Charleston, South Carlina, But it originally originated in jamaica. The September 1878 issue of the London magazine fun listed the recipe.

Planters punch is a classic rum based cocktail which is also called as Rum Punch Cocktail and is originated in jamaica.

Planters Punch Cocktail Ingredients: 

  • Dark rum - 1 & 1/2 oz (45 ml)
  • Fresh lemon juice - 1/2 oz (15 ml)
  • Fresh orange juice - 1 & 1/2 oz (45 ml)
  • Fresh Pineapple juice - 1 & 1/2 oz (45 ml)
  • Grenadine syrup - 1 part (10 ml)
  • Angostura bitters - 3 to 4 dashes.

Glassware: Hurricane Glass.

Method: Stir.

Stirring is a method of making cocktail, To make a planters punch simply take a hurricane glass add grenadine along with rest other ingredients and ice cubes and give it a stir or add all ingredients excluding grenadine stir and on the top you can float the grenadine, you can do it, either ways. To stir planters punch you would require a bar spoon.
